Does FishCompat use cookies?
By default the site sets no cookies at all. If you agree via the consent banner, we enable analytics — Yandex Metrica (including session-replay/Webvisor) and Google Analytics — which set their own cookies (such as _ym* and _ga*) to measure how the site is used. Decline, and none of them are set. Our hosting infrastructure may additionally set strictly necessary technical cookies (for example, for security or load balancing) that are required to deliver the site.
Local storage
Instead of cookies, your interface preferences (units, a dismissed language banner) are stored in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device, is not sent to us, and disappears when you clear site data.
Analytics and consent
Analytics run only after you agree via the consent banner and stay off otherwise. You can change your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer — after withdrawing consent, analytics stop loading on your next page view; already-set analytics cookies can be removed by clearing site data (see the next section).
Managing storage
You can remove everything the site stores through your browser settings — clear cookies and site data for fishcompat.com. The site remains fully functional; you will just lose saved preferences. Questions: fishcompat@gmail.com.
