Who we are and what this covers
FishCompat (fishcompat.com) is an online aquarium-planning reference. This policy explains what data the site handles and what your choices are. The site currently has no user accounts. Questions: fishcompat@gmail.com.
Data you send us
The only information you actively send is the “Report an error” form: the message you write and the page it was sent from. Please don't include personal data in report text — we only need the facts about the error.
To protect the form from abuse, the server uses technical request data (such as the sender's IP address) for rate limiting. It is not stored together with your report, not used for profiling, and not combined with any other data.
Data stored in your browser
Your interface preferences — such as volume or length units and a dismissed language banner — are kept in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device and we cannot see them. Clearing site data removes them.
Cookies and analytics
By default the site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. If you agree via the consent banner, we enable Yandex Metrica (including session replay) and Google Analytics to understand how the site is used; they set their own cookies and process usage data under their own policies. You can withdraw your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer. See the Cookie policy for details.
Sharing and hosting
We do not sell or share your data. Like any website, the site is delivered by a hosting provider that technically processes network traffic (including IP addresses) to serve pages and keep standard security logs.
Your rights and contact
You can ask what data we hold about a submission you made, and ask us to delete it, by writing to fishcompat@gmail.com. We answer within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the EU GDPR or Russia's Federal Law 152-FZ; we honor requests from all regions the same way.
If this policy changes, the date above is updated; substantive changes will be highlighted on this page.
